The
Christmas By The Sea Festival is a month long event
held each December in the Southport area. The even
is sponsored by the Southport-Oak Island Area
Chamber of Commerce and has grown over the years to
include a wide variety of events including parades,
concerts, a tour of historic homes and the ever
popular flotilla on the Cape Fear River in downtown
Southport.
While the
Christmas By The Sea Festival is officially
sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, there are many
local organizations that put on many events during
this festival. The local merchants also get involved
by decorating their businesses to fit the season and
offering discounts and specials throughout the
festival.
With a month
of different activities and events, there is sure to
be something for everyone. What better way to get
into the Christmas spirit they by enjoying the
holiday festivities on the coast of North Carolina!
