August 1, 2011 - Ocean Isle Beach, NC -
Silver Coast Winery is proud to present the fine
art of Roland Morin. Beginning August 13, 2011
Morin's bright colored and modern style paintings
will be displayed in the winery's one of a kind art
gallery through November 13th, 2011.
Roland Morin was born in Baltimore, Maryland in
1954. His artistic talents were discovered at the
early age of 9 and he later attended PICA Art School
in Baltimore. Although he was involved in numerous
art shows, he only attended the school for a short
time. His use of bright colors in his paintings
reveals his past and future. Morin's vision of the
world was a sinister one painted in dark and bleak
colors. Later in life, he had a revelation and
became devoted to Jesus Christ. His art then
changed. He began using simplistic forms, mainly
flowers, transforming them into vibrant-colored
contemporary pieces. "Let's face it, the world is
not a simple place to live in anymore; therefore,
why should we, as artists, make our artwork any more
difficult for them to understand and accept? I find
it a challenge to express my artwork without the use
of many colors. It is fun for me to explain myself
in this format", he comments on his simplistic
styles. Morin enjoys different edgy shapes and
mixing colors to express his art.
