September
1, 2011 - Southport,
NC - If you can join us SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 from 9
a.m. until . . . . we would appreciate your help as
we have a Smithville Burying Grounds clean-up day.
Bring your rakes, yard brooms and work gloves – bags
will be provided. There are some broken limbs that
need attention if anyone can bring a saw. We hope
you can work this into your weekend schedule for a
couple of hours.
Even though the cemetery is no longer one of the
society’s active projects we still have a keen
interest in the preservation of this historic
landmark. We want to help the city with this
service. Perhaps some of you who have family buried
there would be especially interested.
If you need more information contact Musette at
musestj@ec.rr.com or call 454-0437.
Thanks in advance!
