2, 2011 - Southport, NC - The Southport Wooden Boat
Show (SWBS) is a committee of Downtown Southport,
Inc, a non-profit organization. The SWBS mission is
to preserve the historic heritage of wooden boats
and their commercial and recreational value to
Southport and the surrounding area, and to provide
both education and enjoyment of the crafts, skills,
and knowledge related to wooden boats, their
construction, their history, and their restoration.
The first Southport Wooden Boat Show was held last
October and was a huge success! The second annual
Southport Wooden Boat Show will be held this year on
September 24th from 10am-4pm. This year's show is
expected to be bigger and better than the inaugural
show, with more boats, more demonstrations,
nautical/maritime exhibits and vendors, children's
events, and input form our very own NC Maritime
Museum in Southport.
