October
12, 2011 - Southport, NC - Shiver me timbers....the
pirates will invade Southport on October 14th &
15th. Activities for all ages. Friday - feed the
inner pirate at "The Pyrate Masquerade," a
fundraiser for the
NC Maritime Museum @ Southport or take the kids
to watch "Monster House" on the Garrison Lawn.
On Saturday, The Devil Men
of the Cape Fear Living History Organization will be
very busy, invading Southport, encamped on the
Garrison Lawn and reenacting the trial of Stede
Bonnett.
The Southport Historical Society will provide a
"Living History" in the
Old Smithville Burying Ground and give tours of
the
Old Jail. At the NC Maritime Museum there will
be a Pyrate Costume Contest for Kids and other Kid
Activities including story telling.
All events with the
exception of the Pyrate Masquerade are FREE. This
