- Ocean Isle Beach, NC - Today the
Ocean Isle Beach Chapter of the American Wine
Society announced the theme for its next
scheduled meeting.
The Ocean Isle Beach Chapter will hold its next wine
tasting event for area wine lovers and their guests
on December 4th. The theme for this meeting will be
"Having a Sparkling Holiday." This tasting will
include champagne from France, and sparkling wines
from Spain, Italy and California. All sparkling
wines have ratings of 89 points or better.
Last month's meeting which featured affordable "new
world" red wines was very well received by members
and guests in attendance, said Barwikowski, Chapter
chair. "This was an excellent way to learn about
some very good red wines from Chile, Argentina,
Australia, California, Washington, and Oregon. The
Chapter is also planning a wine dinner to start the
New Year, and will be featuring some NC wines from
the Yadkin Valley in future tastings. Everyone is
welcome."
Chapter meetings are held at the
Silver Coast Winery located at 668 Barbeque Rd.
Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469. The meeting will be held
on December 4th starting at 4:30 PM. The cost of the
tasting will be $15, and will include chocolate
truffles. Also the first 36 attendees will be given
a fluted wine glass for this event. Prior to the
tasting, the chapter will hold a brief meet and
greet social with wine and cheese being served.

American Wine Society
The American Wine Society is the largest and oldest
consumer based wine education organization in North
America. AWS is well respected in the wine industry
and has tremendous relationships with domestic and
international wineries and winemakers.
AWS membership is for anyone who enjoys wine and
wants to learn more about it. Members include wine
lovers from novice to expert, amateur and
professional winemakers, wine educators, and people
in all aspects of the wine industry.
