26, 2011 - Ocean Isle Beach, NC - The 8th Annual Run
for Food will take place on Saturday, January 7,
2012 at 9:00 am in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. All
proceeds benefit the South Brunswick Interchurch
Council Food Pantry. Half-Marathon and 5K Run/Walk
will once again take participants over the scenic
Odell Williamson Bridge to the Ocean Isle mainland
and back to the island. Last year’s event drew over
470 runners and walkers to the beach and netted
$12,500 for the Food Pantry. It was a great day and
a great turnout!
Newly designed high-performance long-sleeve shirts
will be set aside for the first 600 registrants.
Special awards will again be presented to the top
three finishers in both races, and trophies
presented to the top three finishers in each of 13
separate age categories for both men and women. Both
courses are USATF certified, runners will be timed
using the ChronoTrack Tag Timing system, and
official results will be posted to the web.
