Paws-Ability's 2nd Annual Poker Run

August 6, 2012 - Ocean Isle Beach, NC - Paws-Ability's 2nd Annual Poker Run on Bicycle will draw 200 bicycle riders to Ocean Isle Beach on Oct 7, 2012. This event will raise funds to support the needs of local animal rescue groups, animal shelters and animal programs that affect Brunswick County. This fun filled event will allow participants to preregister @$25 per rider at the Ocean Isle Inn on Ocean Isle Beach for a visit to 7 local sites to pick a playing card at each site that will form a poker hand. Riders will return to the Ocean Isle Inn for a party, silent auction, entertainment and dinner. Prizes will be awarded for the best poker hand collected.

Paws-Ability is a membership based, nonprofit organization that raises funds for animal related programs in our community. Donations to PA are tax deductible. Funds raised by PA fund programs such as domestic violence pet protection program that works in conjunction with Hope Harbor Domestic Violence Shelter and spay/neuter programs that reduce the number of unwanted animals. Proceeds fund veterinary care for animals in the care of local shelters. PA will work with the new management of Brunswick County's Sheriff Department as we strive to make our animal control facility a more humane environment, increase adoptions and decrease euthanasia rate. We may not change the world, but we can change the plight of animals in our community.
