Chocolate & Wine Pairing At Silver

Silver Coast Winery
chose chocolates from The Newfoundland Chocolate
Company, St. John's, Newfoundland who's chief chocolate
officer is Brent Smith to pair with their award winning
wines. They earned the 2012 Co-op's Eat Atlantic Food
Product of the Year award where they received more than
one third of the votes and double the nearest
competition.
This company
started as a 2 person hobby but with a lot of nurturing
and patience it has become a viable business that has
expanded its product line, delighting customers
throughout Atlantic Canada. You will not find a group of
chocolatiers more passionate about great chocolate. They
use the finest of chocolates from all over the world
with absolutely no preservatives. These fine chocolates
are not manufactured they are created, lovingly,
passionately by skilled artisans in a European style.
The flavors of the chocolates are front and centered and
not masked by overpowering additives. These chocolates
are of single origins; Peru and Tanzania. Like fine
wines the terroir of the cocoa trees and the different
varieties influence the aromas, flavors and quality of
chocolates.
The pairing will
consist of sampling two chocolates bars with different
wines on February the 16th at the winery, 6680 Barbeque
Rd., Ocean Isle Beach, NC with 3 seatings 12:00, 1:30,
3:00 and on February the 17th at our Tasting Room in
Southport, 105 S. Howe St., Southport, NC with 3
seatings, 1:00, 2:30, 4:00.. $15.00 per person--There is
limited seating so make your pre-paid reservations now.
