Ocean Isle Beach Chapter of American Wine Society Announces Tasting Theme For February

Ocean Isle Beach Chapter Meeting February 17, 2013

February 4, 2013 - Ocean Isle Beach, NC - Today the Ocean Isle Beach Chapter of the American Wine Society announced the theme for its next scheduled meeting and wine tasting event.

The Ocean Isle Beach Chapter will hold its next wine tasting event for area wine lovers and their guests on February 17th. The theme for this meeting will be "Award Winning Wines from Petrea Imports." This tasting will feature 7 Italian wines from several northern wine regions of Italy. These wines are imported by Petrea Imports, an Ocean Isle Beach family business. Many of these wines can be purchased at several local businesses.

January's meeting, which featured Italian wines from Cantina Villa Gianna, was phenomenal, said Barwikowski, Chapter chair. "For the price point, these were very good wines. They were all very well received by the group. This event also featured several food pairings that were appropriate for the wines being tasted. The Chapter has plans for future tastings which will feature wines from J.Lohr Vineyards, Connecticut Wineries and participation in the national tasting project featuring Rhone style wines. Everyone is welcome to attend chapter meetings."

Chapter meetings are held at the Silver Coast Winery located at 6680 Barbeque Rd. Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469. The meeting will be held on February 17th starting at 4:00 PM. The cost of the tasting will be $10 for AWS members. The guest tasting fee is $15, $5 of which will be refunded, if the guest joins the American Wine Society. All guests are urged to bring their favorite wine glass for this event. Prior to the tasting, the chapter will hold a brief meet and greet social with wine, and cheese being served.
