Chowder Cook-Off Winners

March 18, 2013 - Southport, NC - The 3rd Annual N.C. 4th of July Festival Chowder Cook-Off was held Sunday, March 10th at the Oak Island Moose Lodge. The Cook-Off is a fun community event which is held to raise funds for the annual N.C. 4th of July Festival, Jennifer Moore, First Citizens Bank chaired the Cook-Off and was pleased with the show of support for the festival. Entertainment was provided by Lynda Snyder with door prizes donated by The Adventure Kayak Company, Cape Fear Fitness, Color Me Carolina, Cox Quality Furniture and Harold W. Wells & Son, Inc.

The N.C. 4th of July Festival will be held July 2nd - 4th in Southport with a special Beach Day on Oak Island July 1st.

Restaurant Division:

1st Place – Coastal Catering & Events – Coastal Corn Chowder
2nd Place – Turtle Island Restaurant & Catering – Annie’s Clam Soup & Turtle Seafood Chowder
3rd Place – Oak Island Deli & Pub – Grand Daddy’s Low Land Chowder

Individual Division:

1st Place – Paul Yeso – Lucy’s Choice Chowder
2nd Place – David & Nancy Kelly – Crab & Corn Chowder
3rd Place – Brad & Danielle Fisher – Fisher’s Buccaneer Chowder
