William Clyde “Wildfire” Watts, Jr. - Winnabow, NC

Mr. William Clyde Watts, Jr., know to his CB radio friends as “Wildfire”, age 70 of Winnabow, died Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Brunswick Cove Nursing Home.

Mr. Watts was born September 11, 1940 in New Hanover County to William Clyde Watts, Sr. and Annie McKeithan Watts. He had worked for the State Port as a tug boat crewman. Mr. Watts loved to repair and to talk on CB radios from Ocean Isle to the Virgin Islands.

Mr. Watts is survived by a daughter Monica Lovett and husband Joel of Shallotte; a brother William “Bill” Roberts and wife Carolyn; three sisters Gracie Roberts and Neda Carter all of Ocean Isle Beach, and Virginia Long and husband Robert of Ash; and three grandchildren Brittany, Tyler, and Caleb.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, July 14, 2011 in the Peacock – Newnam & White Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Sammy Jacobs officiating.
