Mr. Benedict
Malcolm Johnston age 87 of Myrtle Beach died April 16,
2012.
Mr. Johnston was born in Gaston County, NC on June 7,
1924 and was the son of the late Charles Lee Johnston
and Geraldine Kaneer Johnston. He was preceded in death
by a son, Gregory Philip Johnston.
Mr. Johnston was U.S. Navy Veteran serving during World
War II in the Pacific Theater. Following his service to
his country Mr. Johnston graduated from St. Mary’s
College in Emmitsburg, Maryland . He then became an
officer with the CIA serving overseas. He retired as an
Account Executive with Wix Filters of Gastonia, NC.
He is survived by his wife, Mary K. Johnston; a son,
Gregory Philip Johnston II of Myrtle Beach; two
daughters, Audrey Dunshee of Slidell, La., Deborah Bair
of Smithville, NJ; a brother, Charles Philip Johnston of
Myrtle Beach; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held Tuesday April 24, 2012 at
9:00 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 37th Ave. N.
Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach.
A private graveside service was held Friday April 20th
at Northwood Cemetery, Southport, NC.
