Grace Wolf Robertson
- Southport
Grace
Wolf Robertson, age 97, who resided at Dosher Nursing
Center, went Home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April
30, 2013.
Grace was born in
Buffalo, New York on September 24, 1915 to Albert and
Elizabeth Wolf. She married William Donald Robertson in
1941 and they resided in the Buffalo area most of their
sixty-four years of married life. She was a high school
guidance counselor assistant most of her working career.
First and foremost though, she was a wife, mother,
grandmother, and great-grandmother. Grace resided at
Orchard Heights Assisted Living in Orchard Park, New
York and then at West Seneca Nursing Home in West
Seneca, New York before moving to Southport, North
Carolina. She arrived at Dosher Nursing Center to live
near her daughter and son-in-law and embraced all that
Southport had to offer. She loved living with her
friends at Dosher Nursing Center for four years. The
friends and staff at Dosher, along with many Southport
friends, became Miss Grace’s North Carolina treasured
family. She was a member of Maryvale Drive Presbyterian
Church, Cheektowaga, New York and was adopted by
Southport Presbyterian Church while in Southport.
Grace is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane
and Larry Wyte; one sister Elva Wolf Pelloth; four
grandchildren, Kristen Wyte Carr of Atlanta, Georgia,
Lawrence Robert Wyte and wife Robin of Oakton, Virginia,
Matthew Robertson of Cheektowaga, New York, and Eric
Robertson and wife Mary of Denver, Colorado. Grace was
fortunate to have loved her seven great grandchildren,
William Cater Carr, Mary Grace Carr, Graham Robert Wyte,
Lily Boxley Wyte, Caitlyn Robertson, Tyler Robertson and
Lilly Robertson. She was preceded in death by her
husband William, son William Jr., daughter-in-law
Lindsay, and grandson-in-law Robert Myrick Carr.
There was not a person she met who was not a friend, and
not an activity she did not embrace in as such was her
glorious life. She loved all and in joy was loved by
them.
A celebration of her life will take place this summer in
Buffalo where she will be interred with her husband,
William.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dosher
Nursing center, Attn. Activities Fund, 924 North Howe
Street, Southport, North Carolina 28461.
