Preprinted Postcard Text (Back): Ruins of Old St. Philip's Church - Built 1754-1768 - The ruin of Brunswick Town south of Wilmington, N.C., is one of the nation's most interesting historic sites. The town, on a bluff overlooking the Cape Fear River, has been excavated and is open to tourists. St. Philip's Church was one of the earliest churches in America. Its still-standing exterior walls, 33" thick, withstood the Federal bombardment of nearby Fort Anderson.
