Winery is Proud to Announce Press Release February, 2005—Ocean Isle Beach, NC-Silver Coast Wine Co., LLC has been awarded 10 more medals for our wines, six at the “Wines of the South” Competition, held in Knoxville, Tennessee, and four at the 2005 Florida State Fair International Wine and Grape Juice Competition, in Tampa, Florida. At the Florida State Fair International Wine and Grape Juice Competition a gold medal was awarded for our 2002 Premium Oak Chardonnay along with bronze medals for the 2002 Reserve Merlot, 2002 Rose and 2003 Seyval Blanc. At the “Wines of the South” Competition silver medals were awarded for our 2002 Premium Oak Chardonnay, 2002 American Oak Chardonnay and the 2002 Seyval Blanc. Bronze medals were presented for our 2002 Reserve Merlot, 2002 Sangiovese and the 2002 Rose. This years competition had 324 wines entered from 45 wineries in 7 state in the southeast. Silver Coast Winery has now won a total of fifty eight medals for our wines produced and bottled at the winery. Winemaker Dana Keeler believes that the 2005 season will produce even more medals and greater recognition for Brunswick County’s only winery. The very promising 2004 vintage wines are being prepared for bottling and should show very well at wine competitions. Owners Maryann and Dr. Bud Azzato are very excited about this achievement and proud of their staff and the hard work involved in producing these award winning wines. The Azzato’s are looking forward to future competitions and are proud to be able to offer these quality wines at the winery and at its retail shop at the South Park Mall in Charlotte.
