North Carolina 4th of July Festival

June 30, 2005 – Southport, North Carolina (NC) - The entire Southport area is gearing up for this weekend's Fourth of July celebration andNorth Carolina 4th of July Festival festivities. Downtown Southport is already adorned with festive flags, banners and other decorations. The hotels and beach houses are booked and the barbeque grills are primed. Everybody is waiting for the official celebration kickoff on Friday. Some folks are not even going to wait for Friday to come, their festivities have already begun.

In case you don't already know, Southport, NC is the home of the official North Carolina Fourth of July Celebration. Southport has been celebrating the 4th of July for over 200 years. This year over 50,000 people are expected to converge on our tiny fishing village to celebrate this event.

The official festival kickoff is Friday, July 1st and events run through the entire weekend. The festival ends on Monday, July 4th. There will be many events for the whole family to enjoy including arts and crafts, music, food, and of course the 4th of July parade and fireworks.
