The Cape Fear
Revolutionary War Round Table is celebrating the completion of
its first program year. The final program for 2010 is to be held
December 14 in Murrow Hall of the Trinity United Methodist
Church, 209 E. Nash St., Southport, across from the Southport
Post Office. The program will start at 7:00 PM. Dr. Chris Fonvielle will
present an extensive program on the major aspects of the Battle
of Moores Creek. After the description by Dr. Fonvielle, the
celebration there at Moores Creek on February 26 and 27 takes on
a deeper significance. Memberships for 2011 will be available
and a short business meeting will be held prior to the start of
the talk. There is always time for a question, answer and
discussion period at the Round Table programs. As we must plan,
please let Bill Holt, 910 791 1602 know of your intention to
attend. We invite you to join us in our learning more about the
significance of our area culture and history.
The Officers:
Ken Money, Dorothy Holt, Tyrone Brandyburg and Bill Holt along
with Chris Fonvielle, Barbara Lewis and Jim McKee as our
Advisory Committee and the membership have done a great job. The
CFRWRT is 40 members strong and is the 14th in the entire Nation
to be formed and operating. The organization thrives on the
$25/yr membership and the hard work of all. There is a split
year arrangement of registration so that members have the
opportunity for the full 4 quarter duration and quarterly
presentations for their membership dues.
