Silver Coast
Winery – Wine Label Competition Winner
January
31, 2011 - Ocean Isle
Beach, NC -
Silver Coast Winery in Southeastern North Carolina sponsored a
competition for
artists to create a label for a new Port wine that will be added
to its repertoire.
Steve Hotz won his first art
contest when he was 11 years old. An innate passion for creating
thoughts on paper and canvas has led him on a journey from an
elementary students’ colored pencil rendering what he thought his
father did at work, to pursuing degrees in art. Since Steve’s
retirement he has dove head first into this passion. This is evident
from his paintings to his design work. Steve’s new found passion is
his fuel for life and design...and the journey continues.
Owner of Silver Coast Winery,
Maryann Charlap-Azzato said, “There were 81 submissions all of which
merit special accolades. We are always excited about all of the
labels that Silver Coast Winery receives in our wine label
competitions. There is so much talent in the world and we are lucky
to tap into it. Steve Hotz’s work on the Port label is another
testament to the artists.”
For a winery that’s almost 9
years young, Silver Coast has garnered over 260 medals, most won at
International Wine Competitions held throughout the United States.
