September 21, 2011 - Brunswick County, NC - Prepare
your pallet for an evening of culinary delights at
the year's premier dining experience. From shrimp
'n' grits and crab dip to eggplant rollatini and
sweet brisket, Brunswick County offers the best of
regional cooking and more. And there is only one
place where you can sample the culinary creations of
the area's finest chefs. Join Communities In Schools
on October 27th for the Tenth Annual Benefit Gala
for Children featuring A Taste of Brunswick County.
The event is the cornerstone of the CIS fundraising
effort. Karen Taylor of Taylor Cuisine Cafe &
Catering of Southport believes, "“the Gala supports
our kids, and they are our future." She is
participating for the 6th time in memory of her
mother who was a school teacher. Former substitute
teacher-turned-baker LeeAnn Politis agrees, "we’re
thrilled to have this opportunity to give back to
the community and support the educational programs
of CIS." Salt Aire Bakery of Holden Beach is
participating for the fist time.
