September
28, 2011 - Ocean Isle Beach, NC - Today the
Ocean Isle Beach Chapter of the American Wine
Society announced the theme for its next
scheduled meeting.
The Ocean Isle
Beach Chapter will hold another interesting wine
tasting event for area wine lovers on October 23rd.
The theme for this meeting will be "New World
Affordable Red Wines." All wines were purchased
locally and have ratings of 87 points or better and
cost less than $16 per bottle.
Last month's meeting, which featured merlot wines
selected as part of the American Wine Society's
National Tasting Project, was "well received by
members and guests in attendance," said Barwikowski,
Chapter Chair. "This was an excellent way to learn
more about merlot wines from around the world."
Participants enjoyed the merlot wines from
Washington State above those from France, Australia,
and California.
Chapter meetings are hosted by
Silver Coast Winery at their facility located at
668 Barbeque Rd., Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469. The
meeting will be held on October 23rd starting at
4:30 PM. The cost of the tasting will be $10, and we
encourage all to bring their favorite wine glass for
this event. Prior to the tasting, the chapter will
hold a brief meet and greet social with wine and
cheese being served.
All those
planning to attend this event are asked to RSVP by
