- Southport, NC - The works of local potters will be
the focus of this month's First Friday Gallery Walk
at
Franklin Square Gallery in Southport, where the
theme will be "Fabulous and Festive Fall
Decorating." The public is invited to an evening
reception on November 4 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Several potters are arranging their own ceramic
creations along with those of other local potters to
give the public ideas for holiday decorating,
whether it's for a Thanksgiving buffet, a fall open
house or a whimsical take on ghosts and goblins.
Pumpkin orange, deep red, brown, tan and dark green
with speckles of gold reflect the autumnal mood of
these vignettes which will be on display for the
month of November. The ceramic elements of these
tableaux are for sale, as are the pottery and
paintings by members of Associated Artists of
Southport which will also be on display throughout
the gallery.
Franklin Square
Gallery is located in the heart of Southport's
historic district, directly behind Franklin Square
Park, two blocks from the waterfront. It is open
Monday through Saturday from 10-5. For additional
