Ocean Isle Beach Chapter of American Wine Society Announces Tasting Theme For November

Ocean Isle Beach Chapter Meeting November 4, 2012

October 18, 2012 - Ocean Isle Beach, NC - Today the Ocean Isle Beach Chapter of the American Wine Society announced the theme for its next scheduled meeting and wine tasting event.

The Ocean Isle Beach Chapter will hold its next wine tasting event for area wine lovers and their guests on November 4th. The theme for this meeting will be "The Wonders of Spanish Wines." This tasting will feature six premium red wines from several of Spain's prominent wine regions.

September's meeting, which featured seven wines made from unique grape varietals was most impressive and well received, said Barwikowski, Chapter chair. "The September tastings demonstrated that there are many fine wines with impressive taste and quality that should be on everyone’s wine list and not just left to be enjoyed by wine geeks. Attendees noted that the quality of these wines was not reflective in the value pricing of these wines. This event also featured several food pairings that were appropriate for the wines being tasted. The Chapter is also planning future tastings of budget based French wines and in 2013 will host a series of tastings featuring wines from local Italian wine importers. Everyone is welcome to attend chapter meetings."

Chapter meetings are held at the Silver Coast Winery located at 6680 Barbeque Rd. Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469. The meeting will be held on November 4th starting at 4:30 PM. The cost of the tasting will be $10 for AWS members. The guest tasting fee is $15, $5 of which will be refunded, if the guest joins the American Wine Society. This event will be limited to 40 members and guests. All guests are urged to bring their favorite wine glass for this event. Prior to the tasting, the chapter will hold a brief meet and greet social with wine, and cheese being served.
