January 28, 2013 - Bolivia, NC - The Humane Society of the United States and Canines for Service were recipients of holiday donations from the dogs and cats who boarded at Greenwood Pet Camp during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Lots of Pet Camp boarders enjoyed special holiday dinners of turkey, rice, green beans and rolls in return for a donation to these charities.

$250 was donated to The HSUS to support disaster relief work for the animals impacted by Hurricane Sandy in New York and New Jersey. The HSUS rescued more than 250 animals from devastated commumnities, cared for more than 450 pets in their emergency shelters, and worked to reunite pets with their owners.

Canines for Service, based locally in Wilmington, NC, received $300 to support its work in training assistance dogs for disabled persons, especially military veterans. Please consult the websites of these well-respected charities for details of their ongoing projects.

Each Thanksgiving and Christmas for over 15 years Greenwood Pet Camp, located on Hwy 211 at Midway between Southport & Supply, has served a special holiday dinner for its boarding dogs and cats to benefit various national and local charities.
