Thomas L. Woodman Sr. - Oak Island

Thomas L. Woodman, Sr., age 72 of Oak Island, died Friday, October 7, 2011.

Thomas was born on October 25, 1938 in Lansing, Michigan and was the son of the late Bernard Woodman and Bernice Cone Woodman. He was a retired commercial fisherman and also was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a resident of Oak Island for 34 years and was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife Gladys F. Woodman of the home, two sons, Woody Woodman and wife Daphne of Wilmington and John Woodman of Southport. Two daughters, Kelly Woodman of Oak Island and Sandra Lamprecht of Rocky Mount, N.C. Three brothers, Ted Woodman, Michael Woodman, and Art Rock, all of Michigan. Three sisters, Donna Hopkins, Sharon Ryan, and Mary Ann Vaughn all of Michigan. Three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A memorial service will be held, Monday October, 10, 2011 at 2pm at Peacock-Newnam and White Funeral Service Chapel with Jim Brown officiating.
