Nellie Simmons Johnson - Bolivia

Nellie Simmons Johnson, 68 of Bolivia, died, Sunday, September 30, 2012 at her home. Ms. Johnson was born June 11, 1944 in Ash, the daughter of the late Reverend William Vance Simmons and Eather Hewett Simmons. She had worked for several years at Shallotte Florist and in home heath care nursing. Ms. Johnson loved to cook, and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by a son Stephen Johnson Jr.; two brothers Ed Simmons and Levy Simmons; and two sisters Vada Hewett and Myrlie Babson.

Surviving is her daughter Christy Cribb and husband David of Bolivia; two brothers James Simmons and Lendon Simmons; a sister Zella Mae Simmons, all of Ash; three grandchildren, Seth Johnson, Erika Cribb, and Sarah Cribb; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, October 4, 2012 in the Peacock – Newnam & White Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Jeff Saugus officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
