Robert "Bob" Kleine -
St. James
Robert George
Kleine, 72, of St. James Plantation formerly of Sudbury,
Massachusetts, passed away on April 3, 2013 at the New
Hanover Regional Medical Center surrounded by his
family.
Mr. Kleine was born September 18, 1940 in Chicago,
Illinois, son of the late George and Agatha Kleine. He
graduated from Carroll College with a Bachelor of
Science degree and from Illinois Institute of Technology
with an Electrical Engineering degree. He received his
MBA from Stanford University.
He is survived by Suzanne, his wife of 51 years, his
four daughters Laura, Lisa, Amy, and Julie, their
spouses, twelve grandchildren and his brother and sister
in law, Richard and Virginia Kleine.
His career as an executive in the computer industry
spanned thirty years, culminating with the acquisition
of his own telecommunications company in the early
1990s.
Bob divided his time between St. James and Balch Lake in
Maine. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, being outdoors,
lake life, boating and fishing. He was a member of the
Hackers golf club. Bob’s beautiful handmade Adirondack
chairs grace his North Carolina and Maine homes and he
loved nothing more than sitting in his chairs, viewing
the water and visiting with family and friends. He was a
beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who was
sought out for his sage advice and ability to listen
well. He will be missed by all who were touched by his
presence.
A private memorial service will be held in Southport,
NC.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of
Bob to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor
